Vauxhall, EV tax implications and Shell's big EV charging roll-out plan

  • Vauxhall has revealed that it is going to sell an all-electric Astra. The popular hatchback model will be available as an EV in 2023. It should have a range of up to 250 miles. Read more on Auto Express
     
  • New taxes may be introduced for all car owners – ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair’s think tank warned without them the UK would be left with a £30 billion black hole. Read more on the Daily Mail
     
  • Energy giant Shell has said that it plans to install 50,000 more public chargepoints in the UK by 2025. Shell hopes to do the bulk of this via Ubitricity, a company it acquired earlier this year. Ubitricity installs chargepoints in lampposts often in urban areas. Read more on Sky News
